A set of four freedan studios pieces

Six Hands Pillar

“It watches in silence the passage of time.”

Heavily inspired by the works of Zdzislaw Beksinski, who is among my favorite artists. I wanted to capture the sort of loneliness and surrealism his works depict. The free – standing pillars, separated from each other by a large, open space, the darkened and faraway mountains, and the entrapped central figure contribute to the loneliness of the scene. The setting sun, bringing with it the darkness of night, and the uncanny humanoid form of the central pillar, are meant to give a surreal, creepy atmosphere to the image.

The lighting in this scene was particularly enjoyable to paint, as I was able to employ some interesting effects.
