Planet of Anger

“Anger is a potent motivator.”

Planet of Anger started as a return to my earlier artistic themes. I used to create a variety of otherworldly creatures, filling pages of sketchbooks with them. I wanted to experiment with the theme of strange fauna in an alien landscape, and thus, planet of anger was born.

This painting also features some of the most detailed and intricate rock formations I’ve ever painted. Creating them was a thoroughly enjoyable foray into the abstract. The composition is also unusual, in that most of the focal points are concentrated in the corners and sides of the image, while the center is rather bare. This was a deliberate choice for this particular painting, as an experiment of sorts.
